Soho House Hotel Developers Plan Office Conversion Nearby

The developers of the Soho House hotel in the meatpacking district plan a loft office building less than a block away, continuing a flurry of real estate projects in the area, including Google Inc.'s new Chicago headquarters. A Chicago-based venture of Shapack Development and AJ Capital Partners LLC this week bought the six-story Amity Packing Co. beef and pork processing plant at 210 N. Green St., confirmed Scott Maesel, who brokered the $6.8 million off-market deal. The roughly 90,000-square-foot structure is expected to be converted by the new owners into office and ground-floor retail space, said Mr. Maesel, managing director in the Chicago office of Sperry Van Ness LLC.
