Nobu's recipe for West Randolph parking woes: Buy a warehouse

Hoping to quell the hot-potato issue of parking on West Randolph Street, the developers of a proposed Nobu hotel and restaurant there bought a former warehouse on the restaurant row. A venture of Chicago-based M Development LLC bought the former Hot Potato Distributors Inc. building on Randolph, which it plans to use for parking to accommodate the planned Japanese restaurant and 155-room hotel that Nobu Hospitality Group — whose Hollywood investors include Robert De Niro — plans about three blocks east.  Read More...
