CTA to open new el stop by United Center

Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks fans soon will find it a little easier to get to the United Center. City and Chicago Transit Authority officials today are set to announce the CTA Green Line is getting a new station, at Damen and Lake streets, just a block and a half north of the United Center. Currently, fans who don't want to drive to the arena have to take a bus and deal with heavy traffic at game times, or walk about three-quarters of a mile from the existing Green Line station at Ashland, or Pink or Blue line stops southeast of the stadium.
