Will McDonald's workers rent these apartments?

Chicago apartment landlord Waterton Associates is having a Big Mac attack. Waterton has acquired Madison Aberdeen Place, an 81-unit apartment complex about a block south of McDonald's future headquarters in the far West Loop, said Mark Stern, senior vice president of acquisitions at the Chicago-based company. It's a deal based on a simple mantra: "Follow the jobs." Waterton is counting on pickup in demand for apartments there after McDonald's moves its corporate offices—and about 2,000 jobs—from Oak Brook to a 600,000-square-foot building Sterling Bay is developing at 110 N.
