Construction barges are now a common sight along the banks of the Chicago River downtown, with three major towers underway soon, along with three blocks of Chicago Riverwalk construction. The latest of those towers is this 742-foot office building soon to be residing at 150 North Riverside Drive, right between the Boeing building and the also-under-construction River Point. Unlike its building buddy to the north, 150 N Riverside doesn't need to build a tunnel over the train tracks splitting through the site. Instead, the 1.2 million square foot tower was designed to have the smallest possible footprint so its foundation can fit right between the tracks and the edge of the river. Read More...
