New boutique debuts in West Loop

Another retailer has hung its shingle among the West Loop's restaurants and tech firms, adding to the neighborhood's building momentum as a shopping destination. Rider, a boutique that sells vintage and refurbished furniture, women's clothing, apothecary items and art work, will open Dec. 22 at 1115 W. Lake St. Owners Lauren McGrady and Tom Gavin come to the project with independent boutique management on their resumes: McGrady, a Columbia College Chicago fashion studies graduate, previously managed Bucktown menswear store Apartment Number 9; Gavin formerly was creative director of mens boutique Haberdash.
