Fulton Market sausage maker poised for a windfall

Many longtime property owners in Fulton Market have had to choose between holding onto their prime real estate or cashing in on offers from developers. Amylu Kurzawski plans to do both. The CEO of sausage maker ATK Foods has no plans to sell and move her 93-year-old business from its factory at 1143 W. Lake St. on the west end of the Fulton Market district. But thanks to her company's purchase 35 years ago of a 25,000-square-foot piece of land across the street, ATK is poised for a windfall from the area's momentum without having to leave.
