Co-working space for foodies? It's coming.

The new owner of an industrial building in the Fulton Market neighborhood wants to turn it into a WeWork for the food and beverage industry. Stuart McCarroll, founder of consulting firm Menu Collective, is putting on a new twist on the co-working concept in the 20,000-square-foot building at 1210 W. Lake St. A venture led by McCarroll paid $4.2 million for the building last month, according to Cook County property records. Borrowing from New York-based shared-office giant WeWork, McCarroll aims to fill the building with food and beverage companies and restaurant operators seeking a collaborative, innovative environment to help them develop new products and concepts.
