Peek Inside Randolph Row’s New Bi-Level Mexican Restaurant, La Josie

The West Loop should soon see a new Mexican restaurant with a rooftop bar on the corner of Randolph and Halsted streets. Last week, food inspectors gave the owners of La Josie the green light, paving the way for the restaurant to finally open at 740 W. Randolph St. La Josie is the second restaurant from the owners of El Solazo, a Mexican restaurant near Midway Airport. Owner Jose Barajas has been reluctant to provide an opening date. It might have something to do with the neighborhood. La Josie’s neighbors—The Lunatic, The Lover & The Poet—also have not opened yet, as the ambitious wine bar and restaurant addresses its own delays. Barajas intended to open La Josie last year.
